AIDFI Hosts 4th Batch of Water Associations

On January 28 - 30, AIDFI hosted another batch of 12 water associations from the Visayas and attended the 3-day summit with the theme "Cultivating Communities" held at the AIDFI Learning Center in Bacolod City. The water associations first visited the village of Ananggue in Brgy. Buenavista in Murcia, Negros Occidental. The visit allowed water associations to see the technologies (ram pump and water kiosk) of AIDFI in action including the community enterprise project "Essential Oil Production".


On the following days, the water associations underwent different workshops that looked at organizational, technical, and financial aspects of the projects. Focusing on problem solving and sustainability building.


The last day was focused on commitment setting building a lanscape where water associations commit to Sustainability, Environment, Empowerment, and Socio-economic of the project.


The water associations came from different parts of Negros, Panay, and Leyte:


Old Barrio Bahay Farm Workers Water Association (OBBAFAWWA)

So. Old Bario, Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental


Agboy Farmers Association (AGFA)

So. Bali, Brgy. Agboy, Candoni, Negros Occidental


Tres Hermanos Water Consumers Association (TREWACA)

So. Tres Hermanos, Brgy. Buenavista, Negros Occidental


Lower Candabong Vegetable Farmers Association (LCVFA)

Brgy. Bantolinao, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental


Ugdangan Water Association (UWA)

So. Bunsod, Brgy. Obat, Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental


Naba Water Beneficiaries Association (NABA)

Brgy. Naba, Culasi, Antique


Templanza Water Beneficiary Association (TEWABA)

Brgy. Templanza, Matalom, Leyte


Brgy. Lowan Water Beneficiaries Association (BLOWBA)

Brgy. Lowan, Matalom, Leyte


President Garcia Tinubdan Water Association (PREGTINWA)

Brgy. President Garcia, Matalom, Leyte


Barangay Imelda Water Consumers Association (BIWCA)

Brgy. Imelda, Bato, Leyte


Brgy. Amagos Water Association (BAWA)

Dumagocdoc Water Association (DUWA)

Brgy. Dumagocdoc, Bato, Leyte


The summit ended with a culminating evening with live music from Ram Martinez, a local artist from Bacolod.



The Agos Water Associations Summit is funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. (CCFPI) and will gather 90 water associations from the Visayas region until May 2025. The aim is to share experiences and learnings that enhances collaboration and partnerships, and the launching of a new proactive monitoring system with mobile application.
